Is This You?

Two Types of Parents Find Us

🌿

First-Timer

Something feels off and you can't ignore it anymore

Your child's meltdowns, anxiety, or school struggles have escalated. You've tried everything — books, strategies, talking to their teacher — but nothing's working. You know they need professional help but the mental health world feels overwhelming. You want someone who truly specializes in kids, not just any available therapist.

🔍

Frustrated Seeker

You've tried therapy before — but nothing really changed

You've invested time and money in therapy. Maybe it helped a little, maybe not. Your child is still struggling with the same patterns and you're starting to wonder if it's the therapist, the approach, or something you're missing. You're selective — and rightfully so. You want a practice that will actually diagnose what's wrong and fix it.

Either way — your instinct that something needs to change is correct. That's exactly what we're here to help with.

Why Your Child Is Still Struggling

The 3 Gaps Keeping Families Stuck

Most parents try to solve the symptom. We trace it back to the source — and that changes everything.

The behavior doesn't make sense — and nobody can explain it

Your child explodes over something small, shuts down completely, or can't get through a school morning without a crisis. You've been told it's a phase, or that you need to be firmer, or to give it time. But the pattern continues — and without understanding the neurological and emotional root cause, no strategy will stick.

You're doing everything right — but nothing works

You've read the books. You've watched the videos. You've tried the strategies from the pediatrician, the school counselor, or the last therapist. Some things help temporarily — but the same patterns keep coming back. The problem isn't your effort. It's that generic guidance doesn't address your child's specific wiring.

Finding the right therapist feels like a gamble

The LA therapy landscape is full of generalists. Finding a true specialist who also connects with your child, fits your family's schedule, and works without insurance is overwhelming. And because this is your child's emotional health — not a haircut — the stakes feel impossibly high. You need to know you're choosing right from the start.

Why Child Therapy Center

We Specialize. We Go Deeper. We Get Results.

🎯

100% Specialized in Children & Teens (Ages 2–18)

We don't split our focus between adults and children. Every therapist on our team was selected specifically for their expertise with young people. This isn't a general practice that sees kids on the side — it's our entire world.

🧠

Root Cause Approach — Not Just Symptom Management

We decode why your child behaves the way they do — the neurological, developmental, and emotional factors underneath the surface behaviors. When you understand the why, you can change the pattern. Not temporarily. Permanently.

🤝

Precision Matching — The Right Therapist for Your Child

With 14 specialists on our team, we don't just assign whoever has an opening. We listen first, then match your child with the therapist who has the exact experience and style to connect with them. Fit matters as much as expertise.

🏡

Spaces Designed to Help Kids Open Up

Most therapy offices feel sterile and clinical to kids. Ours are warm, intentionally designed environments that make children feel safe enough to be vulnerable. Where your child feels safe, healing happens. Parents consistently tell us their kids actually look forward to coming.

👩‍👧

Parents Are Partners, Not Bystanders

Real change happens at home too. We keep you informed, educated, and empowered so you're not just a bystander while your child heals. Regular parent check-ins ensure you know what's happening and how to support it between sessions.

Common Questions

Everything You Want to Know

We are a private pay practice and do not accept insurance. Sessions are $250 each. Many of our families find this is worth the investment because of the quality of specialized care, the ability to choose the right therapist (not whoever is in-network), and the lack of rushed 15-minute slots. We can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement — some families are reimbursed 40–80% by their insurance, depending on their plan.
If you're asking that question, trust your instincts. Parent intuition is remarkably accurate. That said, our Discovery Call is specifically designed to help you answer exactly this. We'll talk through what you're seeing, and we'll tell you honestly — whether that's "yes, this is something therapy can meaningfully help" or "here's what we'd suggest trying first." We never take on a family unless we genuinely believe we're the right fit.
This is very common — especially moms reaching out while dads are skeptical. Start with the Discovery Call on your own. Our team is experienced at helping families navigate these conversations. We can speak with a hesitant partner directly if that helps, and we're happy to walk you through how to frame it. Most skeptical partners come around quickly once they see early results with their child.
Children and teens from ages 2 through 18. Our therapists are specifically trained for different developmental stages — so whether you have a toddler, an elementary-aged child, a middle schooler, or a teenager, we have specialists who are expert at that exact age group.
We have two beautiful locations in Los Angeles: Santa Monica (serving the Westside, Brentwood, Culver City, and Marina del Rey areas) and Mid City LA (serving Mid-Wilshire, Culver City, and central LA). Given LA traffic, we recommend choosing the location within ~10 miles of your home or your child's school.
Every child is different. Most families see meaningful behavioral shifts within the first 2–3 months. From there, the trajectory depends on the depth of the challenges, your child's pace of growth, and your family goals. We don't believe in keeping children in therapy longer than necessary — we'll always be transparent about progress and next steps. Our longest-term families choose to stay because they see ongoing value, not because they're told they need to.
Psychiatrists are medical doctors who primarily prescribe medication. Psychologists typically hold a doctoral degree and may do psychological testing and assessments in addition to therapy. Therapists (like our Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists and Licensed Clinical Social Workers) provide talk therapy and evidence-based behavioral interventions — which is exactly what we do. We also offer psychological assessments. If your child needs a psychiatric evaluation or medication management, we can refer you to trusted partners.
